Dr. Mark R. Foutch, 80, of Champaign died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born July 22, 1922, in Oklahoma City, the son of Mark R. and Grace Wormood Foutch Sr. He married Joan Peter in 1946 in Springfield; she died in 1999. Dr. Foutch attended Springfield schools and received his optometry degree in 1947 from Monroe College of Optometry. He practiced in Paxton, Pontiac, Ottawa, DeKalb andd Seymour. He was a World War II veteran and a member of American Legion Post 24 in Champaign, 32nd Degree Mason, life member of Central Lodge 71 in Springfield, Springfield Consistory and Scottish Rite. He was leader of the Ansar Temple Shrine Jazz Band, founder and leader of the Mark Foutch Band and member of Warbirds of America. Survivors: three sons, Mark R. Foutch III of Olympia, Wash., Brant H. Foutch of Minneapolis and Thomas E. Foutch of Urbana; a daughter, Marcia Foutch of Minneapolis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Wagoner of Springfield. Memorial services: 4 p.m. Saturday, Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home in Champaign. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery in Champaign.
