Orman Brake

Mr. James Orman Brake, 83, Erin, formerly of Tennessee Ridge, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at his residence.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Beverly Dycus and Sister Denise Settle officiating.

Burial will be in McIntosh Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service today at Nave Funeral Home.

Nave Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 7, 1924, in Stewart County, son of the late Clayburn and Bertha Hudson Brake.

He was a WW II Army Veteran and a member of Tennessee Ridge United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post No. 73.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Sykes Brake of Erin; one son, Landon Brake of Clarksville; two daughters, Rebecca Averitt of Erin, and Deborah Schaus of Athens, Ala.; one brother, Ryman Brake of Tennessee Ridge; five grandchildren, Teresa Nichols Meyer, Angie Brake Covell, Chris Nichols, Leeza Averitt Osborne and Brad Averitt; eleven great-grandchildren, Brian Nichols, Brett Nichols, Zach Paton, Brooke Nichols, Krissy Nichols, Robert Nichols, Josh Covell, Abby Covell, Amanda Burgess, David Schaus and Daniel Schaus; and one great-great-grandchild, Makaylind Burgess.

Pallbearers will be Randy Meyer, Dewayne Osborne, Ronnie Brake, Zach Paton, Chris Nichols, Brad Averitt, Brian Nichols and Brett Nichols.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dickie Sykes, Tommy Rye, Eddie Rye and members of American Legion Post No. 73.
